Rush and Dragon Lee took part in a Battle of Brothers tonight at ROH Death Before Dishonor, and by the end of things it was Rush that walked out on top.
In a brutal match between the two superstars, it was Rush who would come out with a win thanks to some quick thinking. Late in the match, Rush was knocked out by a powerbomb, leaving Lee to check on his friend. However, as Lee did so, Rush — who was playing possum in the ring — quickly sprang up, landing a flurry of forearm strikes onto Lee that allowed him to then hit the Bull’s Horns for the win.
For a brief recap on how the match ended, check out below courtesy of our live, play-by-play coverage:
Rush piefaces Dragon and hits a shoulder block, then he taunts the crowd and chops Dragon in the corner. Dragon comes back with a float-over kick on the turnbuckles, but Rush connects with a stiff kick and a dive on the floor. Dragon comes back with a dive through a table, then he connects with a double stomp for two before they slug it out with each other. Dragon and Rush throw a bunch of forearm shots, then Dragon calls for a chop-off. Dragon connects with a pump kick before going to the apron, then Rush ducks a Thesz press and throws Dragon off the apron and onto the floor.
Dragon and Rush make it back in before the 20 count, then Rush connects with Bull’s Horns in the corner but Dragon kicks out. Rush can’t believe it, but he pulls Dragon up into the corner and onto the turnbuckles. Dragon gets Rush in tree of woe position and double stomps him, then he hits a powerbomb but still only gets a two count. Rush looks to be out of it so Dragon checks on him, but Rush was only playing possum as he connects with some forearm strikes and Bull’s Horns for the win.
Winner – Rush
