Liv Morgan believes that her heart will make all the difference at WWE SummerSlam.
At “The Biggest Party of the Summer”, Morgan will defend the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship against Ronda Rousey. Morgan won the title when she cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase on Ronda Rousey, who had defended the gold in a hard-fought bout against Natalya.
During an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, Morgan previewed her match with Rousey, who will be at 100% this time around. She described how her lifelong dream to be a WWE Superstar has helped her reach this point, and she believes this passion separates her from the former UFC star.
“There’s so many things that I think about,” said Morgan. “Like one, you know, I know I’m walking into my own championship match as the underdog. I know that people think that I’m only champion because I cashed in on a less than 100% Ronda Rousey. I feel like I’m walking into this match where I’m the underdog. People are doubting, can I pull through with a Ronda Rousey that’s at 100%? So I’ve sat with this, and I’ve thought about it, and you know why I know I’m gonna, Pat, is because one, I love it more than her, and I want it more than her. Also, working at Hooters, there was UFC nights. I’m serving wings, and I’m watching Ronda Rousey dominate in the UFC, and as I’m serving wings to my customers, I’m watching her just kill it.
“But I didn’t grow up wanting to be a mixed martial artist, I didn’t grow up wanting to be a UFC Champion, I didn’t grow up wanting to be an Olympic athlete. I grew up wanting to be a WWE Champion, and so I’m a WWE Superstar through and through that lives and breathes and dies for this business. So that’s why I’m gonna survive Ronda Rousey, and I’m gonna defend my championship.”
