The Rock reacts to Ava Raine’s first WWE appearance.
While speaking on the red carpet with ET Tonight ahead of the DC League of Super-Pets premiere, The Rock addressed the first WWE in-ring appearance of his daughter Simone Johnson, who is now going by Ava Raine.
“She’s made history, very, very proud of her. She is fiercely independent. It’s very important for her to make her own way, blaze her own trail, blaze her own path. She doesn’t come to me looking for a lot, which I respect that, and I’m here watching and supporting.”
Later during the conversation, interviewer Rachel Smith mentioned that Dwayne Johnson has never lost sight of where he came from in wrestling. Smith mentioned Rock’s recent praises for Montez Ford. When asked what makes him
“Oh, I love that guy. I love his energy. I love his charisma. I love his work ethic. And you know, in the world of pro wrestling, there’s nothing like pro wrestling. It’s very unique and it’s also a business. Pro wrestling, WWE, it’s in my blood, it’s in my passion. I love it. So for a guy like him, he’s worked his butt off, and by the way, they all do, the men, the women. But him in particular, he’s got great athleticism. He’s got the whole package.”
Smith finished by asking if we could ever see “DJ” back in the ring. To that, Johnson said, “Of course, yeah. I’m always, always open to that. For sure.”
