Cody Rhodes Doesn’t Have A Timeline For His In-Ring Return, Almost Hemorrhaged During Surgery

Cody Rhodes has a good reason for not having a timeframe for his in-ring return.

Friday’s episode of Busted Open Radio saw a surprise appearance from Cody Rhodes, who joined the show to celebrate host Dave LaGreca’s birthday. During the call, Rhodes gave an update on his status after having surgery to repair a torn pectoral muscle he suffered ahead of WWE Hell In A Cell.

Rhodes said that he doesn’t have a timeframe for when he will be back just yet, and it’s because his doctors think he’ll try to come back too early.

“There’s a lot of people who have had knee injuries and back injuries, sometimes spinal and neck, when it comes to the titty, the pec, it’s a really strange injury. They tie that sucker back to your bicep. I had Dr. Dugas, he’s the best in the world to do it, but the problem with him doing it is he knows me and they’re being very coy. The last time I was there for my big check-up after PT,” Rhodes stated. “They’re not going to give me a timeline just yet for when I’m going to be back because they’re afraid if they give me that timeline, I’m going to try and jump it by a month or two.

“But I don’t think people know, the surgery was — I almost hemorrhaged in the surgery because there was so much blood,” Rhodes shared. “People have seen the picture of it, in the match per se, it was pretty gnarly.”

WWE initially announced Rhodes would be out for nine months to recover after surgery, but Rhodes later said that was their plan and he had his own.
