John Morrison Injured, Replacement Named for GCW No Signal In The Hills

A change has been made to the upcoming GCW No Signal In The Hills card as the former John Morrison is dealing with an injury.

Game Changer Wrestling originally announced Gringo Loco against “Johnny Game Changer” for their July 15th show in Los Angeles. However, Johnny Game Changer (fka John Morrison) has sustained an injury. The extent of John’s injury has not been confirmed by him or GCW at the time of this writing.

Johnny recently traveled to Australia last week, where he won WSW World Heavyweight Championship by defeating Joey Janela. In addition, he also defeated Slex in his first title defense. Johnny last competed in a Winner Takes All, Anything Goes Match in Sydney, Australia on July 7th. There, he teamed with the World Series Wrestling Tag Team Champions Flip Gordon and Brian Cage to defend his WSW Heavyweight Championships and the respective tag titles.  In the end, they defeated the team Alex Zayne, Mat Diamond and Robbie Eagles to retain their championships. In addition, Johnny introduced the new ring name of “Johnny Down Under” during his ventures in Australia. However, Johnny has not competed since in a ring since then.

In the meantime, a replacement has been named for his GCW opponent, Gringo Loco. Per Game Changer Wrestling, Rocky Romero will now take on Gringo tonight in Los Angeles.

Johnny Game Changer is just the latest surname for John Hennigan, as he’s also used Nitro, Morrison, Mundo, Impact, Elite and many others. During a recent interview with WrestleZone, Taya Valkyrie joked that she wants to see him use “Johnny Valkyrie” before he’s finished.

“How many is it now? I can’t [think of them all.],” she joked. “I was really hoping that he would become Johnny Valkyrie. It’s 2022. Come on, it’s possible. So, I mean, I’m just happy for him. We have friends across all platforms. I mean, obviously, we have so much love for IMPACT because that’s like our second family. We worked there for so long and me going back there it’s just a reminder of how wonderful that roster is and management as well. And I’m just happy to see him do his thing, you know. And so hopefully, we see more of that.
