Mercedes Martinez will defend the Ring of Honor Women’s World Championship at ROH Death Before Dishonor on July 23.
As confirmed on the Control Center for the July 13 episode of AEW Dynamite, Martinez will defend the title against Serena Deeb at the show.
Martinez and Deeb have been teaming up in recent weeks, but they came to blows after they won a tag team match on the July 8 episode of AEW Rampage. Deeb left the champion lying and posed with the title to state her intention to challenge for the gold.

Martinez won the ROH Interim Women’s World Champion by defeating Willow Nightingale at the Supercard of Honor pay-per-view on April 1. She then defeated Deonna Purrazzo, the reigning champion, to unify the titles on the May 4 episode of AEW Dynamite. Meanwhile, Deeb has established herself as one of the top competitors in AEW’s women’s division. She recently challenged Thunder Rosa for the AEW Women’s World Championship at the Double or Nothing pay-per-view.
The updated card is as follows:
- ROH World Tag Team Championship: FTR (c) vs. The Briscoes
- ROH World Television Championship: Samoa Joe (c) vs. Jay Lethal
- ROH Pure Championship: Wheeler Yuta (c) vs. Daniel Garcia
- ROH Women’s World Championship: Mercedes Martinez (c) vs. Serena Deeb
