Killer Kross On Competing At Ric Flair’s Last Match Event: I’m Pumped To Be Part Of It

Killer Kross is excited to be part of the card for Ric Flair’s Last Match, which will be held alongside Starrcast V.

In an interview with Kevin Kellam of Sportskeeda Wrestling, Kross made it clear that he’s looking forward to being part of the show, but it’s hard to put the sentimental value into words. He noted that it’s an opportunity yo deliver a memorable performance in front of a large audience while also honoring Flair’s legendary career.

“I don’t think it’s gonna hit me until the day of, when I actually see the audience and I see Ric backstage,” said Kross. ” I haven’t seen him in a few months. I didn’t have a very strong rapport with him, but like on a ‘Hello’ basis, Ric was always very cool to me, to everybody. To me, I mean the sentimental value of being on a show like that, it’s kinda hard to put into words.

“It’s a time and a place to put your best work out there, not only just for the audience, but just for the contributions that Ric Flair gave to the business. There’s a lot of people in the industry that, with the amount of enthusiasm, effort and passion they put forth, it secured jobs for people after that. So it just feels very cool, and I’m very pumped about it.

When asked about Starrcast V being on the same weekend and in the same town as WWE SummerSlam, the former NXT Champion admitted that it felt odd because he and Scarlett Bourdeaux thought they would be lifers with the company. That said, he doesn’t have any bad feelings about the situation, and he believes the proximity of the events will be beneficial.

“It feels a little bit like the Twilight Zone,” said Kross. “I don’t know. I don’t have any bad feelings about it. It’s just a little unusual. Scarlett and I always thought we were gonna be lifers there, and we thought that just because we had loved the environment so much. I mean this in the most endearing way, it was kinda like, we would get up and we would train, you get paid to train to become the best version of yourself. You go and perform and you go home. And we were very much happy with that lifestyle.

“Before we were even there, her and I would operate like that. We’re very much get up, get whatever you need into your system, go train together, and then just do whatever you gotta do with the rest of your day, and everything is just living in preparation for the next event, and that’s the way it operated there. So I’m very happy that it’s in the same town because I think the audiences will definitely piggy-back off of each other, and I think it’s going to work very well.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Kross shared his thoughts on potentially returning to TV.
