Bron Breakker is still the NXT Champion.
The main event of NXT Great American Bash saw Cameron Grimes challenge for the NXT Championship for the very first time. It was also his first singles match against Bron Breakker, but unfortunately it did not go in his favor.
The story since last week was that Breakker’s right shoulder has been in a weakened state. Despite his best efforts, Grimes came up short; in the end, he leapt off of the top rope and got blasted with an explosive spear that put him down for the count.
Post-match, JD McDonagh (fka Jordan Devlin) made a surprise appearance and put Breakker through a table to make a statement.
JD McDonagh!? ?

Bron Breakker will continue his second NXT Championship reign at 92 days and counting, though he already has a new target on his back. JD McDonagh has been confirmed to appear on the July 12 episode of NXT 2.0, but he decided to make his arrival a little early.
