The former Nia Jax won’t be at the WES event despite still appearing on the promotion’s advertisements.
Wrestling Entertainment Series is set to host its debut event on July 9, and Lina Fanene (fka Nia Jax) was originally set to face off with CJ Perry (Lana) on the card. Perry has since been pulled from advertisements, and now Fanene says she doesn’t know why she’s still on ads for the event since she won’t be there.
Fanene posted the following statement, telling fans that she won’t be at the show:
“I do not know why I am still on this poster, but I will REPEAT myself again…I will NOT be at the show. Please do not buy a ticket thinking you will see me perform or get a chance to meet me. I hate that this misleads people,” she wrote.
This is actually the second time that Fanene has said she won’t be on the WES event, as she responded to a post back on June 23 apologizing for missing the show.
The Wrestling Entertainment Series debut event is now set to take place at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England on July 9. The event was originally scheduled to take place in June but it was rescheduled due to logistics due to the Queen’s Jubilee, according to a statement issued by Gzim Selmani, former Author Of Pain and co-promoter of WES.
The original lineup was set to feature a main event between the former Braun Strowman, Adam Scherr, taking on Alistair Overeem to crown the first-ever WES World Champion. The current lineup for July 9 saw many of the original names pulled, while Steph de Lander (fka Persia Pirotta) and Eric Young were some of the names added.
