In a brief interview during the June 27 episode of WWE RAW, Cody Rhodes gave an update on his injury, as well as what he would do if Seth Rollins were to win the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Rhodes is currently sidelined with a torn pectoral tendon; he suffered the injury ahead of WWE Hell in a Cell, and though he still competed as scheduled at the premium live event, he subsequently had surgery. He was last seen on the June 6 episode of WWE RAW, when Rollins brutally attacked him.
In the interview on Monday, Rhodes spoke about his recovery from a torn pectoral muscle, saying that he would have loved to have been able to parlay his huge win at Hell in a Cell into Money in the Bank, but that he flew a bit too close to the sun. He noted that following Rollins’ beatdown, he was told that he’ll be out for about nine months, and he’s trying to respect that at the moment.
When it came to Seth specifically, Rhodes said he wasn’t cheering for “The Visionary”, but that he would “be the first” to congratulate his rival if he won.
