Ric Flair says Jay Lethal is upset that he’s not currently part of the plans for his big event on Starrcast weekend.
On the latest episode of his To Be The Man podcast on AdFreeShows.com, Flair and co-host Conrad Thompson planned for Jay Lethal of All Elite Wrestling to be a guest on this week’s show. Lethal was going to discuss his in-ring history with The Nature Boy, but he didn’t show up for the recording. According to Ric Flair, Jay Lethal has an attitude over not being booked for the “Ric Flair’s Last Match” set to take place on July 31.
“Well, is he gonna hear this if I say it? I don’t care. He’s got an attitude,” Ric Flair said. “He wants to be part of the show, and I said it ain’t gonna happen. You know that happens, and all of a sudden, everybody’s feelings are hurt. You know, this is what we talked — what we discussed. Some people’s feelings are gonna be hurt.”
Conrad Thompson chimed in, stating that he hated to hear that and that he thinks the world of Jay Lethal. Flair said he did as well, but he doesn’t have the authority to put Lethal on the card.
“I do too, and I’m not saying anything bad,” Ric Flair said. “Just I don’t have the authority or even I’m — I guess, the owner of this venture. I don’t have the authority to put him on the card. So I think he’s upset about that, but he’ll get over it.”
Jay Lethal and Ric Flair have been training together in the build to Flair’s last match, but Flair’s opponent has still not been announced.
