Lio Rush recently opened up about his time in All Elite Wrestling and despite leaving earlier this year, he says he’s not opposed to a return.
Lio Rush became a free agent in professional wrestling this past February after leaving AEW. During a recent appearance on The Angle podcast, Lio Rush spoke about the possibility of a return to All Elite Wrestling at some point.
“I don’t know. The door isn’t closed on my end at least and I want to put the emphasis on my end because there is no bad blood with the company from what I know and understand. I don’t know how they feel and I’m not looking to know how they feel because I have my own things going on. I can see it, but I’m not saying I can see it in a year’s time or 2 years’ time, but you never know what can happen.”
AEW will run their Forbidden Door pay-per-view on Sunday, June 26th. With that in near sight, Rush also revealed his thoughts on if he’d be a part of the festivities.
“Well, I’d ruin the fun if I told you. I think always when it comes to the name Lio Rush expect the unexpected and I’ll leave it on that note. That’s why my fans like me, they never know what I’ll do next. I like creating a show so, buckle up!”
Additionally, Rush admitted his thoughts about his on-screen character with the company. Rush portrayed a businessman that bragged about being a financial success, but he said that it’s not a character he wouldn’t have picked himself.
“It was a character or gimmick thrown on me that I would’ve never chosen myself and I had to work with that. I had to adapt and kind of figure out where I wanted the character to go because there weren’t a lot of pointers.”
