Shotzi Reflects On Getting Rid Of Her Tank: It Wasn’t My Decision, But I’m Embracing The Change

Shotzi‘s WWE character continues to evolve, but she’s eager to embrace the challenge and do something different.

SmackDown Superstar Shotzi was recently a guest on Out of Character with Ryan Satin to discuss a wide variety of subjects. When asked if the current character we’re seeing on WWE programming is true to her real personality, Shotzi says the NXT version of her character is more like her, but her recent change of heart is kind of mirroring her life as of late.

“NXT Shotzi or good guy Shotzi the goofy chaotic, daredevil positive Shotzi is definitely me most of the time,” Shotzi admitted. “But you might have noticed that my character has had a change of heart recently. And she isn’t as positive, which is kind of oddly mirroring my life lately just because I’ve been going through probably like one of the most emotionally difficult times of my life. So I’ve kind of been trapped, channeling that anger and frustration I have with the world right now through wrestling and releasing it that way.”

When asked about getting rid of her tank entrance that the WWE Universe fell in love with, Shotzi revealed that it wasn’t her decision, but she’s doing her best to embrace the change.

“Yeah, I mean like that wasn’t my decision,” Shotzi said. “But you know what, I’m also embracing the change because I’ve been like a ballsy badass my entire career, even like on the Indies. I was always booked as a babyface. So it’s nice after, like seven years later, to finally change up the character and find something new within me, and I think I’m finally like grabbing the horns and rolling with it, and I feel like it’s finally clicking.”
