Jon Moxley will defend the GCW World Championship at The People vs. GCW.
At the company’s “You Wouldn’t Understand” event on June 18, Moxley successfully defended the title against Tony Deppen. After the bout, Blake Christian confronted the champion. GCW subsequently confirmed that Christian will challenge Moxley for the gold at The People vs. GCW on July 29; the show will be held at the Nashville Fairgrounds alongside Starrcast V, and it will air on FITE.

Moxley won the title at the company’s “The Art of War Games” event in September 2021. Prior to his match with Deppen, he most recently defended it against AJ Gray at Joey Janela’s Spring Break 6: Part 1 on March 31. Christian earned a shot at the gold by beating an injured Matt Cardona at the C.O.S. event on June 5. In recent months , he has defeated Kevin Blackwood, Biff Busick, and Dante Leon, among others.
