Effy is fine, and he has a voiceover role in a new animated series coming to Netflix.
Friday’s episode of Busted Open Radio featured Thunder Rosa interviewing Effy, and their conversation resulted in the GCW Tag Team Champion sharing some details about a new project he’s working on.
“I have to announce I am joining the cast of a Netflix show, the first season drops June 16,” Effy explained. “I don’t really know how much of the first season I’m in but it is an animated show, it’s a wild LGBTQ cast. It’s got a lot of weird stuff in it.”
WrestleZone has since confirmed that the show Effy referenced is called Dead End: Paranormal Park, which is based on the DeadEndia series of horror-comedy graphic novels by Hamish Steele. The cast includes the voices of Zach Barack, Kody Kavitha and Emily Osment, with Effy appearing in an unnamed supporting role.
Update: On September 6, creator Hamish Steele confirmed Effy will portray Asmodeus in season two, premiering in October 2022.
The synopsis is as follows:
Two teens and a talking pug team up to battle demons at a haunted theme park — and maybe even save the world from a supernatural apocalypse.
Based on Hamish Steele’s horror-comedy graphic novels DeadEndia and web short Dead End, Dead End: Paranormal Park follows the adventures of Barney, Norma and magical-talking-dog Pugsley, as they balance their summer jobs at the local theme park haunted house while battling the totally real supernatural forces that dwell within it. Together with their guide to the underworld multiplane, a sardonic thousand-year-old demon named Courtney, they’ll face zombie mascots, demonic game show hosts, sleep-sucking witches and the scariest thing of all: their first crushes!
The first season of “Paranormal Park” is set for a worldwide premiere on Netflix on June 16. Check out the trailer for the show and some production stills from the show below:
