Apollo Crews wants to make history on WWE NXT 2.0.
On the June 7 episode of the show, NXT Champion Bron Breakker discussed his successful title defense against Joe Gacy at NXT In Your House.. He then shifted gears and wondered who would be the next contender. Crews came to the ring to a big pop, and he was also greeted with, “Welcome back” chants.
Speaking without the accent he has had on the main roster, the former WWE Intercontinental Champion stated that he missed the NXT fans, and that NXT is a special place. He said he left the brand too soon, as there’s a lot he still hasn’t accomplished. He then called Breakker one of the best athletes in WWE and made it clear that he looks forward to making history with Breaker at some point.

Later in the show, Crews scored the pin when he appeared as Solo Sikoa’s tag team partner in a match against NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes and Grayson Waller.
Previously, Crews competed in NXT between August 2015 and April 2016, when he was called up to the main roster. He hasn’t competed on RAW since the March 21 episode, and his latest match came on the May 30 episode of Main Event.
