Damian Priest hasn’t wavered — he is all about creating a memorable moment each week.
During an appearance on the Battleground Podcast, Damian Priest was asked about potential plans for SummerSlam. The event will take place in Nashville (where Battleground is based), but Priest said he’s so focused on the now that he hasn’t thought that far ahead.
“I don’t actually have an answer for that because we’re so focused right now on what’s at hand. The goal is always the same, from Monday to Monday, Premium Live Event to Premium Live Event. Create a moment. Do something special. Let them keep talking about it the next day, the week after, the next year, you know what I mean? So that’s where we’re at right now. As soon as we’ve now dominated this part of what we’re doing, where are we dominating next?”
Priest spoke with Battleground ahead of WWE Hell In A Cell and WWE RAW, the latter of which saw Judgment Day kick Edge out of the group. Despite having a new leader in Finn Balor, Priest and Rhea Ripley are still the other mainstays in the group. Priest spoke about Rhea’s dominance in the women’s division, noting that it would be on a different level now.
“It’s all open season for us. And Rhea has to go out there and continue dominating the women’s division but she’s gonna do it on a different level now. Now, I think her confidence now is, the girls had a tough time dealing with her before. They stand even less of a chance now. She’s just on a different level mentally and I see it.”
According to a recent report, WWE wanted to turn Judgment Day into a more supernatural group. Read more about Edge’s reported issues and where the stable goes from here at this link.
