WWE Hell in a Cell kicked off with a Triple Threat Match between three of the top stars in the company today.
Bianca Belair defended the RAW Women’s Championship against Asuka and Becky Lynch, the woman she beat to win the title at WrestleMania 38. Asuka defeated “Big Time Becks” to earn a title shot, while Lynch scored a win over “The Empress of Tomorrow” to clinch her spot in the match.
The three competitors threw everything they had at each other throughout the bout and took control at different points. Lynch gained the upper hand, but Asuka shifted momentum in her favor with a flurry of strikes. Belair fired up and brought the fight to both contenders. She slammed Lynch to the mat and dropped Asuka onto her. The champion hit a back-handspring moonsault for a two count. Asuka rocked both Lynch and Belair with Codebreakers and floored the duo with a hip attack. Belair traded blows with Lynch and got a two count with a roll-up. The champion powered her way out of the Disarm-Her, but Lynch planted her with the Man-Handle Slam.
Asuka rocked Belair with a kick and broke up the three count with Lynch tried to steal the pin. Lynch rolled Asuka up for a two count, and “The Empress of Tomorrow” got a two count of her own. Asuka locked in her signature submission, but Lynch persevered. In the end, Belair pinned Asuka after Lynch dropped her with the Man-Handle Slam.
