WWE released Shaw in a wave of cuts on April 29. Prior to his release, he had been featured on NXT 2.0 as the other half of InDex alongside Indi Hartwell. Prior to his time in WWE, he worked for IMPACT Wrestling from 2013-2015. He also competed at NWA’s 70th Anniversary show in 2018; he defeated Sammy Guevara, Colt Cabana, and Scorpio Sky in a four-way match before he lost to Willie Mack in the finals of a tournament for the NWA National Heavyweight Championship.
