The first AEW Championship reign of Hangman Page has come to an end.
Last November, Hangman Page captured the AEW World Championship against Kenny Omega at Full Gear. Page chalked up a 197-day reign as champion before dropping it to CM Punk on Sunday at Double or Nothing.
The Anxious Millennial Cowboy took to social media this morning to reflect upon his title reign and thanked the fans for supporting the vision. Page went on to remind everyone it’s not about gold or glory but the common love and dignity with which we treat one another. Tweeting out:
“I’ve had a while to reflect on my time as aew champion now that it’s come to an end. thank you all, not for supporting me, but for supporting the vision. it’s not about the gold or the glory, it’s about the common love and dignity with which we treat each other. change the world,” Hangman Page tweeted.
While we don’t know what’s next for Hangman Page, you have to believe he isn’t finished with CM Punk. Perhaps we’ll find out more this Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite.
