The wrestling world continues to buzz about Sasha Banks and Naomi.
The reigning WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions walked out of the May 16 episode of WWE RAW, reportedly due to creative frustrations, after they handed in the titles. Rumors and reports about the situation have been swirling all week, and a new update suggests that the two popular stars’ contract status could be up in the air.
Speaking on The Masked Man Show, former WWE writer Kazeem Famuyide stated that he heard the duo’s contracts are coming up soon, and they had been negotiating new deals.
“I did hear that their contracts were also like, they were in negotiations for renewals, both of them,” said Famuyide. “And I don’t know how soon it is, but I think Sasha and Naomi’s contract was set to expire within the next two months already, right. So I mean that’s another caveat there that we’re just like okay, what happens if their contracts just run out while they’re doing this?
“I don’t know. There’s so much unspoken, there’s so much unknown with this situation that I don’t want to that person just irresponsible, just spewing things recklessly like people tend to do in the wrestling world, podcasts and all that stuff. I’m saying what I know and you do with that information what you will.”

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer also reported that it’s “believed” that Naomi’s contract is up soon.
Plus, Mike Johnson of PWInsider reported that Banks and Naomi are not in town for the May 20 episode of WWE SmackDown, which is in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jimmy Uso, Naomi’s husband, is set to be at the show, but Johnson cited WWE sources who noted that Naomi didn’t travel with him. Meanwhile, Banks reportedly hasn’t been seen in Michigan.
