If you want to play a WWE 2K video game online in July, it has to be WWE 2K22, as WWE 2K19 and 2K20 will be taken offline on June 30.
WWE Games took to social media to break the news to the community. Tweeting out:
“Attention WWE 2K community: On June 30, 2022, we will sunset support for WWE 2K19 & WWE 2K20 servers. This includes all online functions, such as online matches & Community Creations. We are turning our full focus toward supporting #WWE2K22. Thanks for your continued support!” WWE Games said in a tweet.
While WWE 2K19 was considered a success by many, WWE 2K20 was anything but. So much so that 2K19’s servers remained up for years longer than they usually would have been since a majority of the WWE Games community shifted back to the previous year’s title.
WWE 2K22 has been considered a commercial and critical success since its release in March and has seen several patches that continue to fix some of the nagging issues that the game had at launch. With four more DLC packs to release, there should be plenty more patches coming over the next few months.
