Ezekiel is swinging for the fences with his goals in WWE.
Elias’ younger brother arrived on the WWE RAW after WrestleMania 38, and he has already made quite an impression on the red brand. He continues to feud with Kevin Owens, and he main-evented the show in an eight-man tag team bout less than a month after his debut. Moving forward, he has his sights set on the man who holds the gold at the top of the card.
During an appearance on Rasslin’ with Brandon F. Walker, Ezekiel was asked to discuss his goals for the next year, and he made it clear that he wants to earn the fans’ trust, as Owens continues to spread doubt about his identity. Beyond that, the RAW star wants to chase titles, and he’s confident in his ability to beat Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
“First and foremost I wanna build trust with the audience because that is what Kevin’s doing,” said Ezekiel. “He’s planting seeds of doubt, which I gotta cast out of the way, man. I don’t like that. On top of that, man, I just wanna compete with the best. I wanna go after championships. I think I could take down the big dog Roman reigns, and that is saying a lot because I know what we has done over the last two years now. I’m telling you, Ezekiel is ready for the challenge. I’m ready to step up and I do wanna prove that to everyone.
While Ezekiel has become a breakout star on WWE RAW, many fans continue to wonder why Elias never mentioned him throughout his previous run. Ezekiel responded to this question by noting that you don’t often see names like Kevin Owens or Sami Zayn talking about their family members on WWE TV.
“This is an interesting thing, man,” said Ezekiel. “I’ve been wanting to be a wrestler for my whole life. And people ask me, ‘Oh, why didn’t Elias ever talk about you? He hadn’t mentioned you.’ These kind of things, you know. And to that, I just say, is Kevin Owens talking about his mom? Is Sami Zayn talking about his wife? The people, they get out there on WWE, on television, they do their thing, it’s not really always about their family. So I don’t hold any resentment towards Elias about that.”
Ezekiel went on to emphasize that he and his brother are truly separate individuals, and he hopes to put this matter to rest soon so he can focus on his goal to stand out on his own and win titles.
