The Authors of Pain aren’t retired from professional wrestling quite yet.
Former NXT Tag Team Champions, The Authors of Pain, were released from WWE in 2020 and haven’t wrestled a match since. Which led to many wrestling fans thinking that the tag team had quietly retired from the professional wrestling industry.
According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Akam and Rezar are planning on running their own independent wrestling event in Dubai this June. Not only do they plan to run it, but they also intend on wrestling at the event as well.
Whether this would mark a full-time return to professional wrestling for The Authors of Pain remains to be seen, but regarding this upcoming event, one source said to Sapp, “I’m not sure how often they’ll be wrestling, but they’re planning to do this one.”
