WWE SmackDown viewership increased on April 29, but the demographic rating dropped substantially.
According to Showbuzz Daily, 1.953 million viewers watched the show on Friday, and SmackDown drew a 0.38 rating (490,000 viewers) in the 18 to 49 demographic.

The total viewership is up from last week, when 1.952 million viewers watched the show. But the demographic rating is down, as the April 21 episode scored a 0.47 rating in the same demographic.
Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics notes that SmackDown drew its lowest-ever 18-to-49 rating in its normal time slot, likely due to stiff competition from the NBA Playoffs and the NFL Draft. Thurston also wrote that SmackDown ranked #9 among broadcast primetime and cable originals on Friday, according to Showbuzz Daily.
This week’s episode featured a Steel Cage Match between Sami Zayn and Drew McIntyre. Plus, Ricochet defended the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Shanky. In the main event, Charlotte Flair took on Ronda Rousey in an “I Quit” Beat The Clock Challenge.
