Dakota Kai has been released by WWE.

Kai had been working with the company since 2015, and she signed a contract in 2016. She is a two-time NXT Women’s Tag Team Champion with Raquel Gonzalez. The duo won the inaugural Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic in 2021. Kai and Gonzalez recaptured the titles at NXT Stand & Deliver on April 2 and dropped them on the following episode of WWE NXT 2.0. In her last match, she challenged Mandy Rose for the NXT Women’s Championship on the April 12 episode.
Before her time in WWE, Evie, as she was known at the time, was a Shimmer Tag Team Champion, and she also enjoyed some success in Stardom, among other promotions.
Malcom Bivens, among 10 total individuals, was also released on April 29.
