Jonathan Gresham has been announced as unable to compete at IMPACT Rebellion tonight. Gresham was going to be one of the headline matches for the card as he was set to face IMPACT turncoat in Eddie Edwards, but it was revealed early on the event date that Gresham is off the card. Last week, Gresham removed himself from PROGRESS events due to injury and this appears to be the case for IMPACT. The following is directly from the IMPACT Wrestling website:
ROH World Champion Jonathan Gresham is unable to compete in his scheduled matchup with Eddie Edwards tonight at Rebellion. Eddie Edwards will now face Chris Bey on Countdown to Rebellion, streaming LIVE and FREE at 7:30pm ET on IMPACT Plus and YouTube.
The X-Division Championship match between Trey Miguel, Mike Bailey and Ace Austin will now take place on the pay-per-view portion of Rebellion, beginning at 8pm ET.
Edwards turned his back on Team IMPACT to align himself with Honor No More and Gresham, who has competed regularly on IMPACT programming was a major player in feud with the faction. There have been reports from Fightful that Gresham has signed a deal with All Elite Wrestling and this was further hammered home when Gresham defended his ROH Title at Battle Of The Belts II against Dalton Castle. The card for tonight’s Rebellion event is now as follows:
- IMPACT World Championship: Moose (c) vs. Josh Alexander
- IMPACT X-Division Championship”: Trey Miguel (c) vs. Mike Bailey vs. Ace Austin
- IMPACT Tag Team Championship Eight Team Elimination Challenge: Violent By Design (c) vs. TBD
- JONAH vs. Tomohiro Ishii
- Eddie Edwards vs. Chris Bey
- IMPACT Knockouts Championship: Tasha Steelz (c) vs. Rosemary
- AAA Reina De Reinas Championship: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. Taya Valkyrie
- Steve Maclin vs. Chris Sabin vs. Jay White
- IMPACT Knockouts Tag Team Championships: The Influence (Madison Rayne & Tenille Dashwood) (c) vs. The IInspiration (Billie Kay & Jessica McKay)
