Triple H is widely considered the “father” of WWE NXT, especially before the 2.0 revamp. Plenty of stars often credit “The Game” for playing an instrumental role in their development, and Pretty Deadly recently joined the list.
Elton Prince and Kit Wilson are newcomers to NXT Prime, but they enjoyed a successful run on NXT UK. They held the tag titles there, and they won the gold on 2.0 the week after they joined the brand. In doing so, they quickly cemented their status as prominent players on NXT 2.0.
In an interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro.co.uk, the duo discussed Triple H’s influence. Prince started off by describing the “alpha smell” that the former world champion has. He explained that this “big energy” is exactly what they hope to attain.
“From Triple H, there’s an energy we would like to achieve,” said Prince. “We’re close, we’re very close – but he just has this alpha smell. When he walks in a room, you get a whiff of it instantly. This big energy!”
Wilson went on to explain how he and Prince have benefitted from learning under Triple H, Shawn Michaels and other renowned members of the developmental system. He noted that Triple H has inspired them, and now they’re gaining his knowledge first-hand.
“[They] have really helped and shaped us,” said Wilson. “More than anything, it’s inspiration to see them and to look back at their career, and then to see them now at the forefront of helping younger talents.”
“If anything, it just inspires us to have a similar career. You can take bits from them and learn from them and grow from that – you take different pieces. Triple H was one of those big guys that we watched and we think, “Hey! We’ll get there, but we need to get there.”
