Elias is gone, as he has mysteriously vanished from WWE. But his younger brother, Ezekiel has practically taken his place, as he arrived on the WWE RAW after WrestleMania. There, he introduced himself to Kevin Owens and the entire WWE Universe.
Still, everyone still wants to know what’s going on with Elias. He was declared “dead” in a series of on-screen vignettes last August, and he hasn’t been seen ever since.
During an appearance on the April 18 episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Ezekiel emphasized that his brother is indeed missing, but he expressed his confidence that the former WWE 24/7 Champion will “pop back up” when the time is right.
“It’s been months since I’ve seen my brother man, and I do honestly miss the guy,” said Ezekiel. “Despite all the trouble he liked to cause, he was actually quite a good brother to me, so I miss him. But he’s out doing his own thing, you know how he is. He’ll pop back up when it feels right. But in the meantime, I’m here, dude. I’m here. I’m his younger brother, and I’m having a great time in WWE.”
Naturally, McAfee and his team were curious as to how Elias’ family felt about his disappearance. Ezekiel noted that they were upset, but they were also thrilled for his newfound stardom.
“The family was a bit torn-up, but this is Elias,” said Ezekiel. “This is what he does. And on the other end, they’re so proud of me, they’re so excited. They can’t wait to see me. They gather around the TV for Monday Night RAW just like I used to when I would watch Elias. So it’s a great full-circle thing.”
The WWE RAW newcomer went on to describe how he landed the opportunity to be on WWE’s flagship show in the first place. He recalled how he ran into a “higher-up”, and the rest is history.
“I’m very fortunate,” said Ezekiel. “I ran into one of the higher-ups here at WWE, I introduced myself, Ezekiel, Elias’ younger brother. He told me to stop by RAW one time, sure enough, it was right after your big night, Pat. So I showed up at RAW and I thought, you know, Kev’s out there doing his thing. Let me go out and introduce myself. And the company has just accepted me as one of their own. It’s really great.”
Finally, Ezekiel stated that he’s always dreamed of being a WWE star, and when the man once known as “The Drifter” did it first, Elias held his sibling’s goal against him.
“Look it was always my dream to be a WWE superstar and he got there first and he did his thing. I was proud of him, but he knew I was coming up the ranks and I was gonna be up there one there, and it seems like he held that against me.
The newcomer also vowed to show the world he really is Ezekiel, Elias’ younger brother on the April 18 episode of WWE RAW, where Owens will make him take a lie detector test.
