A former NXT Champion has been called up to WWE RAW.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Tommaso Ciampa is in Detroit for tonight’s episode of WWE RAW and has been officially called up to the main roster.
Tommaso Ciampa wrestled his last match in NXT at Stand & Deliver, where he lost to Tony D’Angelo before sharing a heartfelt moment with Triple H on the entrance stage following the match, signifying the end of Ciampa’s run in NXT.
Recent reports have suggested that Ciampa is a name that has been suggested for Edge’s new stable on RAW. Whether that ends up being the direction they go in for the former NXT Champion is unknown at this time.
With WWE’s main roster desperately in need of some top babyface acts on both RAW and SmackDown, Ciampa could easily fill that role if the company chooses to utilize him in that fashion. Which direction will they go? We’ll find out soon enough.
