On Sunday night, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar will collide in what is being called the biggest WrestleMania match of all time.
At WWE WrestleMania 38 Night Two, Reigns and Lesnar, WWE’s men’s world champions, will compete in a title unification bout. This contest will be their third clash at WrestleMania, but this battle will be quite different. Reigns has evolved into “The Tribal Chief”, a dominant persona that has reigned supreme over WWE since SummerSlam 2020. Meanwhile, Lesnar has become a somewhat fun-loving beast who wears cowboy hats and drives forklifts. Clearly, despite their history, this match will special for its own reasons.
In an interview with ESPN, Reigns previewed the bout and noted Lesnar’s renowned background as an athlete. But “The Head of the Table” also explained that he has thrown his opponent off his game plan by messing with Lesnar’s emotions. Plus, Reigns stated that Lesnar helped create the “monster” he is today.
“He’s a tenured athlete, a world-class athlete who’s used to that structure, who’s used to that training and keeping that focus and keeping that game plan, all the way from the squared circle to the octagon in UFC,” said Reigns. “He’s a guy who’s been drilled on what to do, and as an athlete, he follows that game plan. But when he’s dealing with ‘The Tribal Chief’ and his old advocate, the updated wiseman, as I like to look at him, he’s in his emotions right now, which takes him out of his head and he’s in his heart.
“And when you’re dealing with somebody as good as me in that ring, someone as experienced as me, someone who’s been in every situation imaginable, and a lot of those situations are due to Brock Lesnar. This is a monster that he had a huge hand in creating.”
Reigns continued by explaining that he purposefully took Paul Heyman away from Lesnar to neutralize one of his biggest advocates, so “The Beast Incarnate” will be alone on the battlefield on Sunday.
“As a world-class athlete, as an elite-level athlete, I understand where Brock’s coming from,” said Reigns. “But I also looked at the advantages that he’s had and one of the big ones was Paul Heyman, so I stole that from him, stripped it from him. And now he’s by himself. Now he’s alone in the shark tank.”
The time for talk is almost over, as the two powerhouses will collide in the main event of WrestleMania 38 Night Two.
