Mickie James is pissed at Chelsea Green.
The GAW TV team — Mickie James, Lisa Marie Varon and SoCal Val — recently spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard about their DressleMania event taking place at WrestleCon in Dallas this weekend. Before DressleMania takes place, Mickie will be in action at IMPACT’s Multiverse Of Matches event on Friday where she and her husband, Nick Aldis, will team against NWA World Heavyweight Champion Matt Cardona and his wife, Chelsea Green.
Cardona retained his title against Aldis in controversial fashion at the 2022 Crockett Cup, but things came to a head on the March 24 episode of IMPACT Wrestling. James not only lost her rematch against Tasha Steelz for the Knockouts Championship, but her “friend” Chelsea finally turned on her and claimed she didn’t need James anymore. Adding insult to injury, Cardona attacked James, who says she was really hurt by what transpired, but now she’s just ‘pissed’ and ready to fight.
“I’m not heartbroken anymore, I’m ‘Pissed’, if you will,” said Mickie, referencing her new single out April 1. “I’m excited about the match because I think that Matt has a butt-whoopin’ coming, clearly. We were already annoyed at the result of the Crockett Cup, but obviously, Nick doesn’t take too kindly to Matt putting his hands on me.
“I’m still very upset with Chelsea, I feel like the whole thing, this whole time since — you go back to this time about a year ago and if you remember there was a moment where we [Chelsea and I] were going to perhaps debut Chelsea Green on television and we were going to do this whole thing and it got pulled,” said James, referring to the WWE program they had taped content for that never made it to air. “We both got let go the same day and we’ve been on this whirlwind of a ride, kinda parallel, but together, and I’ve watched her and supported her for so long, I had her at Empowerrr and she was in the Women’s Invitational Cup for NWA. All the things she’s doing from NWA to GCW to IMPACT, I just really loved and respected her, and even though I know our husbands didn’t really agree or didn’t get along, I thought hey, there’s a mutual respect [between the two of us] and we’ll figure it out, but clearly it’s not cool.”
