Kevin Owens confirmed the report that Triple H spoke at a WWE talent meeting and shared the advice that “The Game” offered.
Fightful Select reported that WWE held the meeting ahead of WrestleMania weekend, and company president Nick Khan delivered the news that talent can now make additional money from third-party platforms, among other updates, before he introduced Triple H as the special guest.
In an interview with Alistair McGeorge of Metro.co.uk, Owens described how it was extra meaningful to see Triple H, as he hadn’t been around in a long time due to his health issues. The former WWE Universal Champion then noted that “The King of Kings” told the talent to enjoy themselves. Owena noted that this advice resonated with him, as he’s been trying to approach his career with that same mindset.
“Triple H, we hadn’t seen him in so long,” said Owens. Yesterday, we had a talent meeting. He came back after not seeing everybody for a long time and he spoke about everything that he’s been through. The message he had was, ‘Take the time to enjoy this.’ Man, that really resonated, but I’d already tried to frame myself that way for the last little while. It really changes everything, once you change your perspective on things.”
The WWE RAW star went on to explain that whereas he previously didn’t live in the moment, he’s learned to be more present in recent months. This shift has helped him have “the time of his life” with WWE now.
“I didn’t live in the moment for a lot of my WWE career, and now for the last few months, I’ve been able to really take a step back and put perspective into everything,’ said Owens. “I’m really having the time of my life. I feel like I’ve stopped putting so much pressure on myself , I’ve stopped trying to think “What’s next?” and I’m just going with the flow and let things come to me.
“Now, the biggest thing that’s ever happened to me has come to me – I think there’s a lesson there to enjoy the moment.”
Owens will host The KO Show with the returning “Stone Cold” Steve Austin as his special guest at WWE WrestleMania 38. Meanwhile, Triple H recently announced his retirement from the ring, but he has returned to the office.
