Roman Reigns has some high praise for Triple H.
WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns recently appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and discussed the impact that the recently-retired Triple H has had on his career.
“[Triple H] was very critical in this process to guide me along. Before I met Vince [McMahon] and built a relationship with him, it was Triple H, he was the one who was down there in developmental, helping guide talent along. He overlooked FCW, which was in a tiny little warehouse, it’s like one of those armories and high school gyms, killing people for what it felt like was nothing at the time. But yeah, Triple H was huge in guiding me along.
“I think he recognized the potential and he was just always good to me, I think I was the type that was asking for raises, I was like ‘can I have some more money?’ and they were like ‘yeah, go ahead!’ and like two months later I’m like ‘can I have some more?’ and ‘yup!’ and eventually they were like ‘nah’ and then I was like ‘well, can you ask Triple H?’ and the next morning, I got more money. So, H has hooked me up, he’s always looked over me and inside and out, he’s been the best.”
Reigns is set to face WWE Champion Brock Lesnar in a winner-take-all title unification match during night two of WrestleMania 38 on Sunday, April 3.
Triple H recently announced his in-ring retirement, but said that he remains focused on other aspects of WWE, including continuing to develop talent for the company. Read more about his future in WWE at this link.
