On Wednesday night, it’ll be clobbering time when CM Punk returns to AEW Dynamite.
“The Second City Saint” hasn’t been seen on AEW programming since he defeated MJF in a Dog Collar Match on March 6. The fan-favorite star had a pre-taped promo on the subsequent episode of Dynamite, but he has been absent otherwise.
Punk confirmed his looming return with a tweet on March 21; he stated that he was going to Austin, the site of this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

AEW subsequently announced the news with a tweet the following day.
For the first time since his brutal and bloody #DogCollar Match with @The_MJF at #AEWRevolution, the #BestInTheWorld @CMPunk returns to #AEWDynamite LIVE TOMORROW NIGHT from the @HEBCenter in Cedar Park, TX at 8pm ET / 7pm CT on @TBSNetwork! pic.twitter.com/jeUivPEe8A

Punk has reportedly been involved with the filing for the second season of “Heels”, which explains his absence.
AEW President Tony Khan also announced two more matches for the show. Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson will team up to face The Varsity Blonds. Plus, Red Velvet will face “Legit” Leyla Hirsch to complete their trilogy of singles bouts; Kris Statlander will be banned from ringside after she cost Hirsh her match against Velvet last week on AEW Rampage.
