A dream match that’s several months in the making will finally happen at ROH Supercard of Honor on April 1.
In a tweet on March 18, Tony Khan announced that The Briscoes will defend the ROH World Tag Team Championship against FTR at the event. Cash Wheeler and Dax Harwood are the reigning AAA World Tag Team Champions, and they also held the gold in AEW and WWE. Needless to say, this bout will pit two of the top teams in the world today against each other.

FTR sent another message to The Briscoes alongside the official announcement of the match:
Top Guys vs Dem Boys
You want a fight? We’ll give you the damndest fight you’ve ever had.

The Briscoes have been feuding with FTR through social media for several months. FTR attacked the duo at ROH Final Battle, but the company subsequently went on hiatus.
A recent report stated that AEW didn’t have any plans to bring The Briscoes in, as a WarnerMedia higher-up reportedly didn’t want Jay Briscoe to appear on TV due to his homophobic comments in a tweet in 2013. (Jay recently apologized for the remarks and said The Briscoes “love everybody.)
Khan recently acquired ROH, and Supercard of Honor will be the promotion’s first show of 2022. It will also feature an ROH World Championship bout between Jonathan Gresham and Bandido. Plus, Alex Zayne will face Swerve Strickland.
