Matt Hardy Confirms Jeff Hardy’s Drug Test Came Back Clean, WWE Offered Him Hall Of Fame Spot

Matt Hardy confirmed to fans on 1/31 that the drug test Jeff Hardy took before he was released came back clean. Matt made the announcement on his Twitch channel after stating he just spent 20 minutes with his brother on the phone. Matt also confirmed the rumors that Jeff was offered a Hall of Fame spot by John Lauranitis, but Brother Nero had other career aspects on his mind.

“They had offered him to induct him into the Hall of Fame,” Matt said. “They said they wanted to do this. I know people have seen this online. That’s not made up, that’s a real thing that happened and he just asked for his drug test at the very end of the conversation and so said, ‘No, I just want my drug test, I want the clean result’ just to clear his name if that makes sense and I think it should, especially given his history.

“Just a couple a days ago he got the drug test back,” Matt later added. “The drug test is compliant, everything was a negative, he passed on all levels. I mean he got the drug test drug test cause he had to fill out a form actually to get his final results back because they held those results.

“I just got off the phone with him after being on the phone with him for about twenty minutes and I just told him I was going to verify that here and like confirm that this was a true story, things you heard online. Cause too I want him to be in the best place and I want his reputation to be good. I want people out there to know he’s okay…”

Jeff Hardy was released by WWE back on December 9 following an incident at a house show in which Hardy left through the crowd during a six-man tag match. Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that WWE asked Hardy to go to rehab and he declined. After Jeff received his release, his wife Beth said that Jeff is good. Both he and his brother Matt are scheduled to tag together at a Big Time Wrestling show in March.
