AEW is getting to their first point as a company where talent contracts are set to run out and there are few names on that list, according to Mike Johnson of PWInsider. In his report, Johnson states that names on the list of soon-to-expire contracts are Joey Janela, Marko Stunt and Brian Cage.
Janela has been the most in-ring active of the aforementioned trio as he just wrestled Eddie Kingston on an episode of AEW Dark, but both Marko and Cage haven’t been seen on AEW television since the turn of the year. According to Johnson, Cage has still been backstage on the regular recovering from an injyrt, but Stunt hasn’t been active with the company in months. The Jurrasic Express name has all been dropped from Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus as the new on-air trio consists of the AEW Tag Team Champions and Christian Cage. The reports of these contracts expiring doesn’t indicate that any of these talents will or won’t be re-signed.
However, two names who be appearing to be making their exit from the company is Lio Rush, who announced his free agency on Twitter and Peter Avalon, whom PWInsider confirmed his contract with AEW has officially expired.
