AAA Lucha Libre and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) announced that they would be postponing even more upcoming shows, due to the ongoing spread of COVID-19 across Mexico.
AAA Lucha Libre announced that their show on January 30, 2022, which was initially set to occur in Merida, Yucatan, would be postponed due to rising COVID numbers. The show was initially planned to be headlined by FTR, who would be traveling to defend their AAA Tag Team Championships against The Lucha Bros. The next scheduled show for AAA Lucha Libre is its Rey de Reyes event on February 19, 2022, although it’s currently unclear if that will proceed as planned as well.
As for CMLL, the company had already announced moves to postpone their shows earlier this month, and have not issued any updates on when shows may be proceeding. Currently, CMLL’s next show planned is set for January 30, 2022. As of now, though, it’s unclear when the company is planning on returning to live events, so fans will have to be a bit patient until more information is revealed.
