Fox didn’t quite receive a lump of coal in it’s stocking when it came to WWE SmackDown viewership on Christmas Eve, but the headline show for the company did experience a significant dip. Santa’s sleigh sure had it’s impact on the numbers according to Spoiler TV as the average viewership jingled in with 1.791 million. That number is down from the December 17 episode, which drew 2.303 million viewers. This is a major drop from last year’s 12/25/20 episode of SmackDown which brought in a whopping 3.335 million viewership number.
Prelim rating for WWE Smackdown on Fox, Christmas Eve was 1,791,000 viewers. I'd estimate a final of about 1.89 million.
Final rating will be reported tomorrow morning.

Update: On December 28, Brandon Thurston of Wrestlenomics reported the finalized numbers; the December 24 episode of WWE SmackDown actually drew 1.972 million viewers, and the show scored a 0.48 rating (630,000) in the 18 to 49 demographic. These numbers are down from the December 17 episode, which drew a 0.52 rating (682,000 viewers) in the same demographic, but it’s important to note that the drop wasn’t as significant as one might have expected for a pre-taped holiday show.
