“The Doctor of Style” is back.
Legendary manager Slick returned to professional wrestling this past weekend for Independent Superstars of Professional Wrestling (ISPW) based out of New Jersey, making his first appearance in several years. Known as “The Doctor of Style” to many, Slick returned at ISPW’s Christmas Choas during an angle with “The Winner” Andy Vineberg, a pro wrestling manager and the real son of WWE Hall of Famer Nikolai Volkoff.
Slick had been retired from professional wrestling and became an ordained minister after his full-time run came to an end. Slick has made sporadic appearances over the years, including at WrestleMania 23 and on WWE Raw 1000 as the minister presiding over the Daniel Bryan and AJ Lee wedding. Slick also appeared at the 2016 WWE Hall Of Fame ceremony where he inducted Big Boss Man into that year’s class.
Christmas Chaos also featured “The Superstar” Danny Morrison’s ISPW title win, as he defeated Bull James in the main event of the show. Morrison, formerly known as ECW’s Danny Doring, not only won the title, but also left with a new manager as special guest referee Maven turned heel and aligned with him.

Morrison will also be in action at ISPW’s Valentine’s Vengeance live event on Friday, February 18th, facing off with Scotty 2 Hotty, who is returning to the ring for the first time in more than five years. Morrison recently spoke with WrestleZone about how the new age of social media has allowed him to be more creative in his promos compared to the old days where the ‘character-driven’ and ‘scripted to a point’ promos weighed him down.
“There’s a lot of different aspects to that. Normally, back in those days when I was doing it for TV, it was under direction, so very character-driven, almost scripted to a point, very little wiggle room for us to be creative in those days. Obviously even for a guy like Roadkill, who knows more than one word [despite the character he played], but with this new age in social media and everything and the fact that I don’t really have any restraints on what I can do creatively,” he explained. “It’s kind of like ‘this is what we’re doing, this is the direction and here’s the ball.’ So, in that respect, I can just be creative.”
