Bandido is the reigning PWG World Champion; at the promotion’s most recent show, “It’s a Long Way To The Top (If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll)”, he defended the title against Alex Shelley. But the “Most Wanted” star has been sidelined in recent weeks because he tested positive for COVID-19. He was set to defend the Ring of Honor World Championship at ROH Final Battle: End of an Era, but he was pulled from the card.
The updated lineup is as follows:
- JONAH
- Alex Shelley
- Kevin Blackwood
- Lio Rush
- Black Taurus
- Jack Carthwheel
- Bandido
2022 will mark the first time PWG will hold the tournament in two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The tournament is widely viewed as the most buzzworthy competition in the independent wrestling world, as it has launched names like Kenny Omega, Ricochet, and Adam Cole to new heights.
