Kevin Owens Re-Signs With WWE

Kevin Owens is staying put in WWE for many years to come.

RAW Superstar Kevin Owens’ contract was set to expire on January 31, but that is no longer a factor based on recent reports. According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select, Kevin Owens has re-signed a new multi-year contract to remain with WWE. The company reportedly offered Owens “an excellent offer,” and he accepted. Sapp states that WWE is “over the moon” about the former Universal Champion signing a new deal with the company.

Pat Laprade also confirmed Sapp’s report, revealing Owens was a guest on his podcast and confirmed he re-signed with WWE. Laprade said Owens explained what went into his decision, and the episode will be released on Thursday, December 16.

On the All Elite Wrestling side, Sapp reports that the talent he has spoken to didn’t believe it was possible the company would match the money that WWE would be willing to offer in order to sign Owens away from them.

Kevin Owens signed with WWE back in August of 2014 after a long run with Ring of Honor, and he would quickly go on to defeat his best friend Sami Zayn to become NXT Champion.

Less than a year later, Owens was already on the WWE main roster and got a shocking win over John Cena at the 2015 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Then in 2016, Owens won the vacant WWE Universal Championship in a fatal four-way match that included Seth Rollins, Big Cass, and Roman Reigns.

On the first day of 2022, Owens will be involved in another fatal four-way, this time for the WWE Championship at Day 1 against Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, and WWE Champion Big E. Will KO kick-off 2022 as the new WWE Champion? We’ll find out soon enough.
