Gail Kim certainly has an eye for talent.
Gail Kim, former seven-time Knockouts Champion and current agent with IMPACT Wrestling, recently appeared on Oral Sessions With Renee Paquette and spoke about who’d like to see join the IMPACT roster next.
“I just want girls, who, of course, are talented and passionate and all of those things, but it’s important to have a good locker room. It’s so important for the girls to support each other and work for the business of the match for the company and in the end, it benefits everyone. People like Taya [Valkyrie], Mia Yim, of course, was part of our family too. I would love for her to be able to show who she is as her authentic self, because she’s really talented,” Kim explained, “and I’m curious about Ember Moon, of course. And now ROH has so many girls. I love Maria [Kanellis] just as a leader as well, in terms of the women’s wrestling world.”
Gail Kim further explained the importance of variety in the locker room, noting that IMPACT has plenty of people the roster can go to for advice.
“We have Mickie [James] in our locker room now. I just love that there’s just different kind of girls in there now that girls can look up to, just be able to lean on, or go to for advice, because listen, in all realistic situations, even though I’m a leader there,” Kim explained, “some girls may not feel comfortable to come to me for whatever reason it may be. Whether they see me as too office, that’s why we need the Madison’s, the Mickie’s, the Maria’s and the people who are in that locker room that they can turn to if they don’t feel comfortable with other people.”
Gail Kim previously transitioned from an in-ring competitor to a backstage producer at IMPACT Wrestling, and also served as a producer at NWA’s Empowerrr event in August. She also spoke about how Jeff Jarrett helped her break into a producer’s role back when the company was still known as TNA Wrestling; you can read more about Gail’s first run as a producer at this link.
