WWE NXT 2.0 didn’t waste any time in going inside the cold hard steel, as Von Wagner faced Kyle O’Reilly in a Steel Cage Match on the December 7 episode.
Wagner, an initial babyface, played turncoat at WarGames against O’Reilly, and it seemed like this betrayal was the plan for Wayne Bloom’s son all along. The cage match started off the program on Tuesday, as O’Reilly immediately attacked Wagner on the outside to kick-start the bout.

“You suck” chants echoed in the Capitol Wrestling Center as Wagner showed his strength and power against O’Reilly. The fan-favorite star shifted the momentum briefly with his leg attacks, but Wagner’s power continued to overwhelm him. The match went through a commercial break, and KOR got back on offense. In one major near fall, O’Reilly leapt off the cage to land on Wagner. In the end, the powerhouse caught O’Reilly with a low blow and nailed his gutwrench slam for the victory.
After the bout, Wagner hung KOR over the ropes and slammed him repeatedly with the cage door.

Moving forward, O’Reilly’s future is uncertain, as his WWE contract reportedly expires this week.
