WWE Files Trademarks For ‘Next In Line’ And Three Ring Names

WWE has filed for a few new trademarks.

The company filed to trademark “Next In Line”, the name of WWE’s new NIL program for recruiting collegiate athletes, on December 1.

The description, per the United States Patent and Trademark Office, is follows:

Organizing and conducting a program to enhance the use of student athletes’ names, images, and likenesses (NILs); Organizing and conducting collaborative partnerships with student athletes for brand building, training, development, education, communications, promotion, and community relations services; Entertainment services, namely, organizing and conducting an array of sports entertainment events rendered live and recorded for the purpose of distribution; Organizing and arranging of exhibitions and events for sports and entertainment purposes; Entertainment services, namely, provision of information and news about sports, entertainment and general interest rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; Providing information in the fields of sports, entertainment and general interest via an online community portal; Providing a website in the field of sports, entertainment and general interest

The same day, WWE also filed trademarks for “Jinny”, “Xyon Quinn”, and “Skull King.” Quinn is the renamed Daniel Vidot, and he has been featured on the NXT 2.0 brand. Jinny has been a prominent member of NXT UK’s women’s division. Lastly, “Skull King” is the name for Triple H’s alter ego.

Trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.
