The Young Bucks will be sticking around All Elite Wrestling for a few more years.
The Young Bucks have signed contract extensions with All Elite Wrestling, according to a new report in the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. It was noted that the duo, who also serve as EVPs of the promotion, signed deals that will keep them with the company for five more years.
A later update from F4WOnline.com clarified that the Bucks’ deals are extensions of their current agreements, and not new contracts. The Young Bucks were originally signed through January 1, 2022, and the new two-year extension will keep them in AEW through 2024.
The Young Bucks last competed in a six-man falls count anywhere match at Full Gear on November 13. In the episode of Being The Elite that followed, it was noted that both Nick and Matt are not cleared to compete. It’s unknown what exact injuries Matt is dealing with, but he did mention his neck had been bothering him. Brandon Cutler also mentioned that Nick is currently dealing with a bruised heel.
Update: through their Twitter bio, the Bucks later confirmed the news by noting that they’ll be signed until 2024.
“Let’s party for 2 more years,” the Bucks wrote.
As far as the EVP side of things are concerned, Tony Khan recently talked about the hierarchy in the company as it stands currently and said that Matt and Nick Jackson have dealt with more of the business side of things as of late.
“They’re [EVPs] still very involved in a lot of aspects of the business and a lot of those things have been enhanced. The amount of development of huge resources that have been allocated towards building a great console video game, Kenny Omega has led a team and has really spearheaded this project with our staff and he’s been such a great leader and so Kenny Omega’s helped lead the company in a few different ways in the past couple years. Working with The Young Bucks, Cody, they’re great leaders backstage with the wrestlers.”
