No matter what you do in life, you won’t ever please everybody… as is the case for Kiera Hogan.
AEW star Kiera Hogan recently appeared on GAW TV to discuss the fan’s reaction to her leaving IMPACT Wrestling and joining AEW. Hogan said the reaction has been mixed, with more people being upset that she’s no longer working with Tasha Steelz as Fire N Flava.
”The reaction’s been kind of down the middle, some people said I shouldn’t leave and I should’ve stayed with Tasha [Steelz], some people don’t understand and I’m honestly not going to take the time to explain and try to get them to understand, because it’s my choice. I’ve gotten a lot of fans being where I am now because some people hadn’t seen me before and I’m in front of a whole new fan base and a lot don’t watch IMPACT and now that I’m in AEW, they ask ‘oh, who’s this?’ and then they go back and watch my stuff and figure out who I am.
“So, it’s kind of like half and half, some people are happy that I’m moving on and want to stay with me, I feel like being who I am and who I advocate and just who I am as a person, a lot of my fans have stayed with me but a lot of people are more upset that I left IMPACT because of me being with Tasha and doing the things that I was doing and of course, people wanted to see me wrestle Mickie [James] in IMPACT for the Knockouts Title or whatever the case may be.”
Kiera Hogan would then get into her time thus far in AEW, mentioning that she’s a fan of many of the women in the locker room and hopes she gets back in the mix because she’s feeling a bit out of the loop right now.
“I like the girls in the locker room, obviously my girlfriend, Diamanté worked there before I worked there, but I’m backstage helping the girls with makeup sometimes because I do makeup, I also have a lot of friends that were excited for me to go there, they were like ‘are you going to come here, I wanna wrestle you?!’ Tay [Conti] and Red Velvet and of course, one of my best friends, Big Swole, Nyla [Rose] were all like ‘I wanna wrestle you, I wanna have a match with you!’ and I was like ‘yeah, I wanna have bomb ass matches with you too!’
“I feel like there’s a lot of moving parts at AEW, right now, so I feel like some things are getting lost in the shuffle and I feel like I’m one of those things but I’m just trying to stay positive and controlling what I can control which is being ready to go whenever the opportunity presented itself and I’m excited because I’m still able to do indie bookings under my contract. So, I’m still able to work and still do things, and with my time off work on myself and working out, adding to my move set, training and hopefully getting bookings overseas or something with my time off. It’s only a couple of shows and the Dark and Elevation tapings are kind of sporadic with filming and I’m not sure about the next time that I will work but I always try to stay ready.”
Kiera Hogan’s last match for All Elite Wrestling took place at a recent AEW Dark taping in Orlando on October 24. Prior to that, she defeated Penelope Ford on Saturday Night Dynamite on October 16. Hogan has continued to work for the National Wrestling Alliance, defeating Kenzie Paige on the November 16 episode of NWA Powerrr Surge.
