The wrestling world can celebrate Maven making a return to the squared circle as the former WWE star came out of retirement to enter the ISPW Championship Rumble match on November 19. The first ever WWE Tough Enough winner was the latest guest on That 90’s Wrestling Podcast and talked about his past in WWE before being asked about the rumors of him stepping through the ropes once again.
“Maybe some small returns,” Maven laughs. “Before the world was shut down before the pandemic, I actually traveled to Orlando and met with Hunter and with Albert (Matt Bloom) who is running the developmental down there now and I was talking to them about maybe doing some announcing stuff. And I did that, and I went there, March 11th of 2020. And if you remember, in Americal, that’s the day America shut down. So, you know I never want to turn my back or say ‘No, never. It’ll never happen,’ because I don’t know. I still and will always have wrestling in my blood,” he said. Maven still literally dreams about being a wrestler once a week.
“I still have a dream where I’m either putting my boots on or I’m in the ring or I’m getting ready to wrestle somebody and my love for the business is never gonna leave. I tell people all the time too, you know, the WWE is like the girl that broke up with me that I wasn’t done with, you know? It’s kind of hard to see her you know, and she’s moved on she’s dating a better looking guy now and but you know, I would definitely entertain any opportunity to to be back in wrestling in any capacity and so my return to the ring is just me scratching that itch a little bit.”
