ROH Wrestling Results (11/8/21): Bandido Defends World Title On ‘Championship Edition’

ROH World Championship: Bandido (c) vs. Alex Zayne

In a pre-match promo, Zayne recalls how he defeated Bandido earlier in his ROH run. He says he knows he can beat Bandido again; in a promo of his own, the champion says the lessons Zayne has learned during his time away from the company won’t be enough in this bout. Jonathan Gresham joins the commentary team to scout the ROH World Champion because he’s still determined to purify the company.

The two men shake hands at the beginning of the bout. They feel each other out, and Zayne get an two early two counts on consecutive pin attempts. Bandido gets a two count of his own with a Canadian Destroyer. Zayne drops the champion with a swinging face-buster from the sidewalk slam position. A flipping heel kick earns Zayne another two count. Bandido presses Zayne over his head and slams him with one arm.

Zayne hits an acrobatic hurricanrana, but Bandido rolls through and drops Zayne with a fallaway powerbomb. Both men are down after Zayne kicks the champion. The two competitors trade chops before they move to the top rope. Bandido lifts Zayne and drops him with a falling slam out of the torture rack position for a two count.

Zayne rallies with a slam off the top rope of his own. Zayne misses a dive off the top, and Bandido gets a near fall with a roll-up. Zayne catches Bandido with a knee, but the champion blasts the challenger with the X-knee and the 21-plex. He suplexes Zayne again and pins him for the win.
